• Product information, scores, warnings and AI results in ScanPal are general information.
• ScanPal is not a medical service. It does not diagnose, treat or prevent any disease and does not replace advice from a doctor, pharmacist, dietitian or other professional.
• Always read the product label.

2. How results are produced and their limits

• Results are generated automatically from product databases, user contributions and AI models of our provider OpenAI.
• Data can be incomplete, outdated or wrong, and AI can make mistakes.
• We work to keep results accurate, but we cannot guarantee that every result is correct.

3. Allergies and intolerances

• Allergen alerts depend on the ingredient information available and on what you entered. They can miss allergens, including traces and “may contain” warnings.
• If you have a serious allergy, rely on the product label and your doctor’s advice.

5. Freshness and shelf-life estimates

• Freshness and shelf-life estimates are approximate and based on a photo.
• Do not eat food that looks, smells or tastes spoiled, and follow the “use by” date on the package.

6. Your decisions and our liability

• Decisions about what you eat, use or take remain yours. Read the product label and ask a professional where your health is concerned.
• Our liability is set out in section 10 of our Terms of Service. It is not excluded for death or damage to health caused by our breach, or for intent or gross negligence.
